Common Questions

Does Zima require an internet connection?

No. Once a model is downloaded, Zima runs entirely offline. You can use it in airplane mode, underground, or anywhere without signal. Nothing is ever sent to a server.

What models are available?

Three models ship with the app:

• Nano (559 MB) — Free. Fast. Works on any modern device.
• Plus (2.7 GB) — In-app purchase. Better reasoning and writing.
• Pro (4.7 GB) — In-app purchase. Most capable on-device model.

Is there a subscription?

No. The Nano model is permanently free. Plus and Pro are one-time in-app purchases — no recurring charges, no subscription, no expiration.

Where are my conversations stored?

Entirely on your device. Zima does not sync conversations to any server. If you delete the app, your conversations are deleted with it.

Can I restore my purchases?

Yes. In the app, go to Settings → Models → Restore Purchases. Your Plus or Pro purchase is tied to your Apple ID / Google account and can be restored on any device you own.

The app feels slow. What can I do?

Try the Nano model — it's optimized for speed and works well on any device. The Pro model requires more memory and may be slower on older hardware. Close background apps and restart the app if you notice degraded performance.

How do I export a conversation?

Open any conversation, tap the Share icon in the top right, and choose your export method. You can also long-press any individual message to copy or share it directly.

Can I use a custom AI persona?

Yes. In Settings → Personality, choose "Custom" and write any system prompt you want. The model will adopt that persona for all new conversations.
